MISSION STATEMENT


Mary Louis Montessori School, Inc., founded on June 14, 1996 and run by the sisters of the Congregation of Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Pohang, Inc. is committed to exalting and glorify God the Father as Jesus Christ incarnated to preach the Kingdom of God through Quality Education.


The school aims to develop the whole person in the prime of their youth as useful instruments for the glory of God and the country which he represents. It recognizes the value of the individual talents in whatever area he excels in. It encourages the child’s personal learning styles through the Montessori Approach, thereby bringing out the best in every child’s potentials and capabilities.

The prepared environment of the Montessori set-up, conditions the child’s innate interest through fun work; acquiring self-discipline, respect for others, control of error, mastery of subject matter and the discovery and improvement of one’s talent.


Provision of individualized instructions are given to both fast, average and slow learners. Direct supervision is easily acquired with an ideal number of students with the ratio of 10 students to 1 teacher per class with an assistant teacher.

 

 

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS OFFERED

  • Toddler or Play Group (1.5 - 2.5)
     

  • Pre-Nursery (2.5 - 3.5)
    Open enrollment anytime of the school year. It involves Movement Education and the introduction to the Montessori Approach of Practical Life and Sensorial exercises.

     

  • Junior Casa (3.5 -4.5)
    Children’s exploration to basic reading, math and cultural arts through the scientific method of observing, describing, classifying and formulating hypotheses through the use of the Montessori Approach.

     

  • Senior Casa (4.5 - 5.5)
    A progressive, stimulating and enriching program designed to lay a solid foundation for an enhancement in learning the 3 R’s, cultural arts and the arts.

     

  • Advance Casa (5.5 - 6.5)
    A more advanced module in preparation for the grade school level with areas of emphasis on values Education, Reading &Comprehension, Language Arts, Math, Science, Global Education and the Arts.

     

  • Advance Casa 1 (6.5 - 7.5)
    A module prepared on a case to case basis for students with transitory difficulties.

     

  • Provision for Special Education
    Students who need assistance in their learning under the Special Education Program is provided on a case-to-case basis. A Modular Special Education Program is made according to the needs of the child. A pre-assessment from a qualified and licensed Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician is a basic requirement before a child is accepted.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

 

1. Get a schedule for interview and testing
2. Fill-up the application form
3. Submit the following credentials:

  • Birth & baptismal certificates (Xerox)

  • 1x1 colored pictures - 2pcs.

  • 2x2 colored pictures - 2pcs.

  • Family picture (immediate family only)

  • Report card (Xerox and original) - for those with previous school attendance

  • Immunization record (Xerox)

4. Get a schedule for parent’s interview with the school Directress
5. Pay corresponding fees
6. Attend the opening Day Mass & Orientation
7. Sign the PEAF

Weekday Interest Clubs

  • Open to preschool and grade school students, including those from other schools.

 

Academic Club

  • Tutorial class for those needing academic assistance and follow-up. Open to preschool and grade school students, including those from other school.

 

Speech Club

  • Develops and enhances fluency in the English language, including those with speech difficulties.


Arts & Crafts

  • Develops one’s potential and artistic talents with the use of paints, crayons and recycled materials.

 

Computer

  • Enhances computer literacy at an education level.
